'''Urzaia Woodsman''' was the cook on [[Calder Marten]]'s ship. == Personality ==
Urzaia Woodsman has a boisterous and loud personality. He loves a good contest of strength and loves his freedom. He enjoys the simple things of life, like good food and even the rain. He is fiercely loyal to Calder and the crew of the Testament.

Urzaia was raised in the Champions guild after the pattern of raising champions. He ran errands for champions and was taught that strength is the greatest virtue. Once he grew old enough, he was subjected to months of alchemical changes in order to make him a Champion. As part of this process, he became soulbound to a Sandborn Hydra's skin.

Once the process was finished, Urzaia was taught to use his new powers and to have undying confidence in them. He became an unstoppable force in combat and respected of his peers. For his first assignment, he was hired to win a series of arena fights. He chose 2 awakened hatchets as his weapons and had his first taste of winning in front of a crowd.

His second assignment had him sent north of the Dylian Basin to quell a community of villages that had seceded from the Aurelian Empire. Though he expected to have their documents of surrender within the month, he spent five years crushing villages and trying to quell the uprising. After a time, fights against village militias grew boring so he began to lure monsters into the village in order to give himself a challenge. During one night of fighting, things went horribly wrong and he was defeated and gravely injured. Instead of finishing him off or leaving him to die, the villagers saved his life and helped him heal. They explained to him that they had only ever been harmed by the empire and that they had decided that their taxes should go towards the good of the towns, not the far-off empire.

Urzaia was sympathetic to their cause and began to live among them. He lived there for 2 years until the empire sent a message that told him he needed to kill all of the villagers until there were enough to fit in a single ship and be brought back to face trial. Urzaia refused and tore up the command. The next ship brought 2 champions which captured Urzaia. He was stripped of his title and rights as a champion and sent to his death in the Arena of Axciss. The Testament was tasked with carrying Urzaia to the arena and it is there that he met Calder Martin.

After telling Calder his story, Calder vowed to one day come back from Urzaia and free him from imprisonment. Urzaia trusted Calder and fought with unyielding determination for four years. After this time, Calder finally had the means to free Urzaia, and Urzaia joined the crew of the testament. He worked as muscle and cook for several years, defending the crew against elders and other threats. He died to Shera's left shear on the Grey Island after a fight with Meia.
 

== Abilities/Weapons ==
As a champion, Urzaia has access to superhuman strength, speed, and healing. There are few weapons that can harm him and few toxins that can effect him. He can fight large monsters, lift huge weights, and singlehandedly wage war against a nation.

Among other champions, Urzaia has set himself apart. His soulbound Vessel is the hide of a Sandborn Hydra which gives him control over his weight. He has mastered the use of this ability to the point where he can jump vast distances and hold his ground against otherwise unstoppable forces. He also wields two awakened hatchets.

Urzaia is skilled and strong enough to have survived 4 years in the Arena of Axciss. For the first 3 years, the fights were almost fair. After long enough, he began to face entire teams by himself as the Arena owners were truly trying to kill him. They pitted him against huge numbers and eventually monsters such as the Cinderbeast. It is a testament to his skill and strength that he managed to defeat all comers for so long.{{Books}}

== Personality ==
Petal is extremely shy and anxious. She reacts poorly when surrounded by other people, likely as a consequence of her childhood and adolescence in [[Kanatalia]], where she lived on the streets. She is enthusiastic about her projects and loves to learn about alchemy. Though she avoids conflict, she does everything she can to protect her friends. She is a trusting person and is very loyal to [[Calder Marten|Calder]] and the crew of the Testament.

Petal learned alchemy as part of an apprenticeship in the Kanatalia workshops. She was fired after alchemical goods that she was delivering to the palace went wrong. After being denied a spot in the [[Imperial Guard]], she ended up going back to Kanatalia, where she lived in an alchemist's dump. She used extra components that the alchemists didn't need in order to make her concoctions until Calder found her and offered her a job as part of the crew of the Testament.

On the Testament, Petal spent most of her time below decks. She worked as the alchemist onboard, creating alchemical lights and weapons in order to deal with the various [[Chimera]] and [[Elders|Elder]] threats on the [[Aion Sea]]. Her concoctions were fairly reliable, though the crew was careful to always find out if anything Petal made had strange side-effects. During combat situations, Petal stayed out of the line of fire, though she can be dangerous when threatened.

As the crew traveled to various ports on the Aion Sea, Petal took the chance to eavesdrop on Alchemical lectures in order to refine her craft and get closer to her magnum opus- a concoction that could make someone into a [[Champion]]. After Calder Martin was appointed Emperor, she took a job at the palace to cover the shortage of alchemists after the majority went with the [[Independent]] guilds.

When Calder is attacked by [[Shera]] during the events of Kings and Killers, Petal saves his life by giving him a potion that gives him enormous strength. She later survives the battle against the Elders and remains a member of the Testament's crew.

== Abilities ==
Petal is a talented alchemist who can create a variety of concoctions. She is adept at making explosions and other weapons, but her true skill is in creating a potion that can change a person into a Champion. She carries a set of smoke bombs and other incendiary devices with her as a defensive measure.{{Books}}

Ekerinatoth is a gold dragon on the Path of Flowing Flame and sister to Sopharanatoth. She was a favored student from the Gold Dragon Family, sent to Ghostwater to prepare her for the upcoming Uncrowned Tournament. She chased Lindon and tried to kill him to rob his corpse, but was killed by him during the events of ''Ghostwater''.

=== Appearance ===
Ekeri, like most of her family, push to change their physical form from that of a golden dragon to that of a human (following the example of Seshethkunaaz, the Dragon King and monarch). At Trugold, she looks like a woman merged with a dragon, covered in gold scales and with a lizardlike face. She wears multicolored silks and a lot of jewlery.

Ekeri is vain and arrogant, like most gold dragons. She has a temper (as shown by her furious assault on the entrance to the facility where Lindon found Dross), and expects people to obey her. Like most gold dragons, she has an inferiority complex towards The Dragon King, and considers herself unworthy of him as a king.

Ekeri is on the Path of Flowing Flame, a path that combines fire and water aspects to produce great sheets of flame. The path offers a lot of flexibility, and focuses on finding the flaws and mistakes of another to push the attack. She wields a flowing whip as her weapon, and uses her tail combined with enforcer techniques to abuse her opponents.
 

== History ==
Ekerinatoth is first introduced when Renfi and Lindon enter the portal to the Ghostwater pocket world. When Lindon destroys the portal to return, Ekeri is angry and demands that Lindon give her everything he has. He distracts her long enough to run away, but not before Orthos takes some serious hits from her. She doesn't immediatly pursue Lindon, waiting for permission from the Dragon faction leaders. Seshethkunaaz himself speaks to her, instructing her to win glory for her faction. She sets off immediatly.

Believing that Lindon has valuable treasures in his pack, she waits outside the chamber where Lindon hides, hoping to ambush him. She attacks when Lindon is forced to get food, easily defeating him in combat but failing to kill him before he escapes. She gets frustrated at the delays, and events come to a head when Lindon comes out to duel her, Lowgold against Truegold. Despite her superior advancement, Lindon uses her predictability against her and spears her through with Dragon's Breath. Ekeri shatters a gatestone to return to her family, but dies from the damage caused by blackflame.

Ekeri's death sends her sister, Sopharanatoth, into a rage. Sophara vows to have revenge upon Lindon, and goes on a rampage around the islands, causing problems for Yerin and Mercy. Seshethkunaaz speaks to Sophara and tells her that Ekeri was weak and unworthy of his words, which causes even more pain to Sophara, who loved her sister. Despite Seshethkunaaz's command that Ekeri's remnant should be disposed of, Sohpara keeps Ekeri's remnant as a pet to remind her of her sister.{{Cradle NavBox}}

'''Akura Justice''' is a member of the Akura clan. His first appearance was when he passed [[Akura Malice]]'s message to [[Eithan Arelius]], meeting the Underlord as a representative of the Akura outside their fortress. ([[Skysworn]]). He was also the one who tested Lindon's capabilities as a representative of the main team of the Akura faction for the Uncrowned tournament.

He reached Archlord before Akura Charity, Sage of the Silver Heart, was even born but has been stuck there ever since. This likely has something to do with the secrets referenced by Akura Charity in ''Wintersteel'' about why there is only 1 Akura Herald and 1 Akura Sage. If he were to push for advancement, he would be encouraged to ascend to the heavens. Instead he functions in a primarily logistical capacity for the Akura Family, overseeing much of the administrative duties.

Sandviper Gokren is the leader of the [[Sandviper Sect|Sandviper sect]] in the desolate wilds. He is a [[Truegold (Advancement)|truegold]] on the Sandviper Path, is the father of [[Sandviper Kral]], and is the ally of [[Jai Long]]. He was killed by [[Wei Shi Lindon|Lindon]] and [[Orthos]] during the Jai clan's attack on the Aurelius family at Serpent's Grave.

 

===Appearance===
Gokren is a wiry man with slicked-back grey hair. He wears furs and a scarf made out of snake-skin. He is medium height, and carries 2 spears as weapons. 

===Personality===
Gokren cares deeply for his sect and his family. He pursues honor and has great determination as he follows his path. He is cautious, and plans well. He is an excellent leader of the Sandvipers, and has earned their loyalty and love. He doesn't do foolish things, or let his emotions overcome him; however, after the death of his son Kral, he dedicates his life to helping Jai Long because of how close Kral and Jai were. He holds to his commitment to Jai Long despite the challenges it poses, risking his own life, the life of his sect members, and everything else to help him. He turns down the chance to steal the ancestor's spear from Jai Long and take it for his sect, and when Jai Long is forced to serve the Jai Clan, Sandviper Gokren stays with him as an ally until his own death. 

===Path===
Gokren is an extrememly powerful Truegold with a [[Bloodforged Iron body]]. He developed the techniques that his sect practices, which focus on forger and ruler techniques. He has few enforcer options, as the madra he cultivates is venemous, but the bloodforged iron body allows him to heal from any hits he takes or resist his own toxins. He fights ferociously, leveraging his superior power over his opponents and staying on the offensive, zoning his opponents with clouds of toxic gas and striking at them with his two spears.

Gokren reached Truegold at a relatively young age, and though he eventually reached the peak of Truegold, he never uncovered the secrets of [[Underlord (Advancement)|Underlord]]. He sought his reason for practicing the sacred arts, but failed. Without access to an Underlord to coach him through advancement, he died a Truegold.

While Sandviper Gokren is mentioned and referenced in ''[[Soulsmith]]'', he first enters the story in ''[[Blackflame]]''. He had just returned from a very successful hunt in the [[Desolate Wilds]] to find that his son Kral had been killed by Lindon. Gokren references this event as what ended his life, and he turns to helping Jai Long wage war upon the [[Jai Clan]]. He and his [[Sandviper Sect|Sandvipers]] attacked the [[Jai Clan|Jai]] branch in the Desolate Wilds, with Sandviper Gokren fighting the Truegold representative and defeating him.

Gokren then travelled to Serpent's Grave, where he, Jai Long, and the Sandvipers waged a private war upon the Jai clan. Their plan was to use the Ancestor's Spear to drain Stellar Spear madra from members of the Jai Clan. Once Jai Long had reached the peak of Truegold, they would leave Serpent's grave to allow Jai Long time to advance to Underlord, while [[Jai Daishou]] succumbed to sickness and died. They struck at Jai clansmen whenever the Jai clan was making moves against the Aurelius family, with Gokren and his Sandvipers mostly playing a supporting role to Jai Long.

As Gokren's war upon the Jai Clan progressed, eventually Jai Daishou took matters into his own hands and subdued Jai Long. Gokren, seeking to protect his ally, rushed the veiled Underlord. He was also immediately subdued, breaking his leg. In order to save Gokren's life, Jai Long formed a pact with Gokren which involved their servitude to the Jai Clan. They were then assigned to assassinate Lindon and [[Yerin Arelius|Yerin]] before Jai Long's upcoming duel. During the fight, Orthos came to Lindon's aid and fought Gokren until he was defeated. Trying to save Orthos, Lindon fired a blast of blackflame at Gokren. Gokren expected to easily deflect or defend himself from the Jade level technique, but it burned through his spear and hand. Gokren then tried to kill Orthos before Orthos could release the ruler technique he had been building, but a spurt of blackflame from Lindon made him flinch long enough for Orthos to release the technique, killing Gokren immediately. Having been totally destroyed by the Void Dragon's Dance, he left no remnant. His sect likely disappeared after his death, returning to scavenging sacred artists in the Desolate Wilds.

Pride is short, with black hair, pale skin, and the trademark purple eyes of the Akura family. His goldsigns are swirling tattoos descending from his ears and chin which coil down around his body and move while he manipulates madra.

Pride lives up to his name. Although he is allied with Lindon and the Akura faction, he serves as an antagonist for Lindon, opposing his entry to the Prime Akura team on grounds that Lindon is too weak. He believed that [[Akura Charity|The Sage of The Silver Heart]] should have chosen a family member. He is often arrogant and aggressive, and prefers force and strength to subtlety. He is full of criticism for Lindon. Despite his flaws, he develops through the series to be more tolerant and more of a friend to Lindon. He cares about his family and his sister, though he doesn't display his affection.

One of Pride's signature characteristics is his loyalty to honor. While he considered Lindon as weak, he opposed him because he felt that Lindon would impact the honor of the Akura family. During the second round of the Uncrowned Tournament, he gave up the crown he had obtained and gave it to Lindon, feeling bound to do so after Lindon saved his life and the life of the rest of the teams by forcing Sophara on to the next round.

While Pride's path has not been named, he follows a path built soley on enforcer techniques. He has bonded to a book, but only 4 of the 7 techniques of his book have been shown. His madra is based on shadow aspects. What he lacks in flexibility, he makes up for in combat strength. His techniques are not showy, but he is a dangerous opponent in a duel, outclassing all of the other young Akura Underlords despite his being much younger than them.

Pride does not approve of Mercy abandoning responsibility, but with the family genius gone he begins to step up his training. When Lindon challenges all of the young Akura underlords, Pride's honor keeps him from joining the mismatched duel. He then squares up to face Lindon, but Charity stops the duel. Instead, Pride duels Akura Grace and wins, securing himself a position on the Akura Prime Team

Leading up to the tournament, Pride and Lindon clash frequently. Lindon doesn't live up to Pride's expectations for an honorable representative of his family, and criticizes him often. During the first round of the tournament, Pride does well for himself considering how limited he his with his path.
