Madra is the energy produced and residing in one's core. Life, blood, and dream aura generated by one's body are initially converted into pure madra, but as vital aura is gathered and integrated into the core, it takes on the aspects of that aura, and the corresponding madra is produced instead. Once cultivated, madra can be used to fuel and empower a multitude of techniques as well as one's own body. As one advances, their madra becomes more potent and more dense, allowing them to do more with less.

The core resides in the center of one's spirit, placed just below the navel, and madra channels loop throughout the body, to and from the core. Replenishing and expanding the madra pool of a core is done through Cycling, Drawing in vital aura of the same aspect, or through the use of elixirs and pills.

In addition to the classical sacred arts, some people possess extra abilities that they inherit from their families known as bloodline abilities. The first bloodline ability seen in Cradle was [[Arelius Senses|the sight of the Arelius family]] show cased by [[Eithan]] and then later by his cousin [[Cassias Arelius]]. Both descendants of the main [[The Arelius Family|Arelius line]], they are capable of sensing the touch, look, and sound of anything within range of their spirit, a range that increases with their advancement. So far the only other known bloodline ability is that of the Akuras.

Forced to absorb a Remnant from a warped Path of the Stellar Spear, [[Jai Long]] does not possess the orthodox Goldsign of this clan, instead his face is twisted with lips stretched inhumanly wide in a smile that stretched all the way back to his ears, and a mouth full of fangs.

By absorbing an "unnatural" Remnant, Jai Long gained the ability to imbue forged madra with temporary life, something that's considered an advanced technique, far beyond him. This manifests as snakes of light that can attack independently of Jai Long.
