According to Yerin, the [[Sage of the Endless Sword|Sword Sage]] broke off his engagement to Min Sheui in order to take her northwest for training.

She is also an accomplished Soulsmith and has forged two twin Wintersteel swords - for herself and for the Sword Sage.

She has manifested both the sword and winter icon.

The Elders are [[Chaos fiends|Fiends of Chaos]], they were never human but gained the ability to interact with the world in a way we recognize as intelligent from humanity. Their power rivals that of the [[Abidan|Abidan Judges]] and just as the Abidan manipulate [[The Way and The Worlds|The Way]] the Elders are suspected of manipulation of Chaos.

Asylum is practically a holding cell to imprison the Elders. If they get out, they're scary. The [[Abidan]] originally intended to use it temporarily til the Elders fully corrupted it so that [[Ozriel]] could destroy it. Which wouldn't kill the Elders, but would drive them back into the void. So it was really just keeping them off the streets for a while. Then the [[Emperor]] came along, and humanity has prospered beyond what the [[Abidan]] ever expected. That tethers the world more strongly to the Way and strengthens the prison, weakening the Elders. So Asylum has held on much longer than anyone anticipated.

The Elders, don't want to be trapped there OR cast back into the void. They want to escape into other Iterations, which is exactly what the Abidan don't want. Back in the day, the Elders could have depopulated humanity. They didn't; they kept just enough alive to make sure the Abidan wouldn't obliterate the place while the Elders looked for a way out.

Asylum is a protected world to ensure the Elders don't escape due to Corruption of the iteration. This is also why the Emperor has not been offered Ascension though he clearly meets the power requirements. The planet is effectively sealed off.

The Elders each have a specific nature and each of the Elders usually act according to that nature. When they were free this usually meant that they stayed out of each other's way, but while they are trapped on Asylum, this can mean that they sometimes come into conflict with each other, such as with Othaghor and Kthanikahr.

'''Akura Justice''' is a member of the Akura clan. He’s described as as old man with a long, wispy beard and purple eyes. He follows the path of the Chain-keeper. His first appearance was when he passed [[Akura Malice]]'s message to [[Eithan Arelius]], meeting the Underlord as a representative of the Akura outside their fortress. ([[Skysworn]]). He was also the one who tested Lindon's capabilities as a representative of the main team of the Akura faction for the Uncrowned tournament.

He reached Archlord before Akura Charity, Sage of the Silver Heart, was even born but has been stuck there ever since. This likely has something to do with the secrets referenced by Akura Charity in ''Wintersteel'' about why there is only 1 Akura Herald and 1 Akura Sage. If he were to push for advancement, he would be encouraged to ascend to the heavens. Instead, he functions in a primarily logistical capacity for the Akura Family, overseeing much of the administrative duties. His official title is First Gatekeeper of the Akura clan, and his job is to inspect any goods from the outside that are to be in the presence of the head family.

The Elder Empire is Will Wights second series written in two parts, one set of books following a Consultant named [[Shera]], then a second set following her sometimes rival, a Navigator named [[Calder Marten|Calder]].
