Each Gardener can be identified by the pair of "Shears" they wear on a belt around their hip. The Shears are a pair of ancient bronze blades dating back to the Liberation of Asylum that have been handed down from generation to generation of Gardeners, slowly gathering [[intent]] to become some of the most powerful artifacts of the empire.

the best examples of this are Shera's shears. They have become some of the greatest weapons on the planet not just because they were invested by [[The Emperor]] and [[Lucan]], but also because they gained massive amounts of intent from hundreds of years of killing.
