On Cradle, written scripts can have power. Scripts are composed of runes, sometimes only a few of them<ref>Unsouled 2"</ref>. Scripts can be used to contain sacred beasts and Remnants.

One script, composed of seven runes, will glow when carved into an ancestral orus tree and is useful for the detection of same.

Lindon repeatedy writes scripts into trees while searching the forest for an orus tree with a spirit-fruit on it. This script was to determine if a tree had ascended to an ancestral tree.
