An Iron body is the enhancement given to a sacred artist's physical form when they advance to Iron.[1] Every part of the body receives a degree of improvement, but many sacred artists will choose to prepare for advancement in a way that grants them additional ability in a certain area, such as particularly refining their strength or speed; often, they will choose one that pairs well with their Path. These specialised forms are known as perfect Iron bodies.[2]

See Iron level details at Advancement Level#Iron Level

If an artist advances to Iron without performing specific preparations, as is done in Sacred Valley, they will be left without any abilities beyond the baseline.[2] If their advancement is disrupted, they may be left permanently crippled.[1]

Hidden Spring Iron body

Forged by the Fisher Sect of the Desolate Wilds

The Hidden Spring Iron body. So called because they can go a long time without drinking water, so the idea is that they have a "hidden spring" inside their bodies and they never have to drink at all. This isn't true, it's just a myth they cultivate. Their bodies process water more efficiently so that they can survive longer in the wilderness of the Desolate Wilds where finding fresh water can be all but impossible. (Will Wight e899)
