Wei Shi Seisha lives in Sacred Valley. She is married to Jaran. She is mother to Kelsa and Lindon. Seisha is the soulsmith of the Wei clan.

Clan Soulsmith

In Sacred Valley, Seisha is an Iron ranked soulsmith, a forger on the Path of the White Fox. Her badge has hammers on it, the soulsmith’s logo. Her drudge looks like a rusty brown mechanical fish. It is a construct of forged madra, and it assists her in various soulsmithing-related activities. Soulsmiths can bring in a large portion of a family’s income, because of this Seisha is valued highly. Soulsmiths create weapons and wealth for the clan, creating wonderous and magical items from madra, molding the stuff of spirits and remnants. She is also a skilled scripter, as many soulsmiths must use scripts to alter a construct. She provides a valuable function to the clan and is widely respected among all the families and has many contacts outside the clan.

Appearance

Her stature is described as statuesque. Additionally, unlike many in the Wei clan, Seisha has long brown hair, and light brown eyes. She had been a famous fighter in her youth. She is never seen without her drudge floating nearby, whistling responses to her.

Personality

Seisha considers ignorance a greater threat than misfortune. Because of this she told her son what to expect on the day of his spiritual origin test. She is not afraid to correct others when they are wrong, and often answers questions, even when she does not want to. She believes that curiosity should always be rewarded, and always tries to expect the worst. She is often seen taking notes or checking scripts. When not soulsmithing, her specialty is crafting clothing.

Path Techniques

Seisha is Iron rank in book 1 and advances to Jade in book 10. She is a Forger on the Path of the White Fox, (the entire Wei clan Path). She creates illusions that look real. Forgers use a technique called the White Fox Mirror which creates illusionary copies of exact appearance with no real substance.

-Lindon’s mom, Wei Shi Seisha

Raising Lindon

Seisha taught Lindon many of the skills, attitudes, and values he manifests throughout his life. Her lessons made a great difference to him, and to his immediate future survival, especially.

Literacy Lessons

In the Wei clan it is up to the parents to teach their children how to read. Seisha teaches her children not only the common script but also the ancient characters, runes. These lessons stand Lindon in good steed, especially since his best friend and ally, Yerin, cannot read or write. Furthermore, his mother allows him access to the clan library, where he finds information that helps him split his core.

Soulsmithing Lessons

Additionally, Seisha allows Lindon to work with her as a soulsmith, perhaps due to his pure madra. She teaches him the basics, and allows him to assist her. Thus, he is able to cobble together simple constructs and warding scripts to survive the wilderness when he is on the run with Yerin.

Response to Lindon, Unsouled

After his first time in the spiritual origin test, when he was a young child declared to be Unsouled, he asked his mother why. She states, “Because the heavens wish to shame us.” So Lindon feels that until he earns a badge, he will continue bringing shame to his family and clan. When he is tested a second time, she provides him with a drop of her own blood, hoping to activate his madra. It doesn’t work. Seisha has already taught her son the basics of scripting, so when he takes the test a third time, he scratches runes into the table to make the bowl shake, but the Elder realizes his scam.

Lindon’s Orus Fruit

Seisha discovers that an Ancestral Orus tree is about to advance. She shows her son the correct script to use, which will light up if he finds the correct tree. She sends him into the forest to find it. When he returns with the fruit and its remnant, she is able to combine them into a powerful spirit fruit. She wanted to give it all to Kelsa, or to have some herself. However, Lindon wants half, and she is embarrassed when he asks if either of his parents will ever advance to Jade. Kelsa agrees it is fair to share with Lindon.

Handmade for Lindon

With soulsmithing, Seisha made Lindon a scripted sling for his broken arm, that will remove pain and speed recovery. She also forged Lindon’s bed from purchased cloud madra. Even the clan Patriarch does not sleep in a better bed than her children. She also spent months making a backpack for him; however it is destroyed when Lindon advances to Iron in book 2. Lindon believes that his mother would be proud that it helped him advance.

Lindon’s Cheating

During the Seven-Year festival, Seisha is responsible for the decorations at the arena. When she catches her son cheating by placing remnants under the stage, she tells him that she is proud of him. :)

Seisha in Captivity

Shortly after Lindon leaves Sacred Valley, the Heaven’s Glory school decide that he must be hiding out at home in the Wei clan. When they question Seisha about Lindon’s whereabouts she fights them. Her husband also fights and is blinded. For three years she is held in captivity at the Heaven’s Glory School, forced to forge constructs for them. She did not know the fate of her husband and daughter, and feared her son dead.

Freedom & Future

Finally, Kelsa rescued her, greatly aided by Orthos, Jai Long, and Jai Chen. (Wintersteel, Bloodline). Now Seisha and her family are living with Lindon and Yerin on Windfall, and in Serpent’s Grave in the Blackflame Empire. Recently, she has advanced to Jade. (Reaper)
