Sola Kalter is currently the Sword of The Last Horizon. Also known as the Fallen Sword, she is known for her crusade against the Iron Legion.

Appearance

When in combat or in unsafe situations, Sola wears featureless, gray, Aethertech armor. Her helmet has an emerald green visor. Like other Lichborn, Sola has the appearance of a model, with pale gray skin and green eyes that glow. She has thick black hair, kept short to fit in her helmet. When she is not wearing armor, Sola wears a dull gray flight suit.

History

At some point in time, Sola was a survivor in a hopeless scenario. On Dornoth IV, Sola rescued a wizard in a status chamber at the bottom of a Zenith wreck. The wizard would die soon afterwards, but not before handing her the Pyre, telling her it would light her way through endless battle[1].

Before Becoming the Sword of the Last Horizon

Sola Kalter was known by many organizations for her crusade against the Iron Legion, and often receives information from the Galactic Union, Karoshan Alliance, and corporations on the Iron Legion. She is often trusted with confidential information, due to her sole interest in the Legion. Among ordinary people, the Fallen Sword is considered more of a myth. There are many rumors surrounding Sola’s deaths and her immortality is relatively unknown.

As the Sword of the Last Horizon

As Varic Vallenar’s request for the Last Horizon was the defeat of the Iron Legion, Sola has no specific goal as the Sword, and instead must chose one at a later date. Sola participated in the battle against the Iron Legion, and made the final killing shot at the Iron King, with the help of the rest of the crew.

In Varic’s Alternative Life

Sola Kalter saved Varic when he was in trapped in an Iron Hive. From there, the two would work together against the Iron Legion. Sola was the one to convince Varic to form an attack on the Grand Hive in attempt to kill the Iron King, but it ended in both their deaths.

Equipment and Abilities

High Aethertech compatibility: Allows Sola to carry her Aethertech Armour and Worldslayer, as well as many other Aethertech guns.

Aethertech Armor: Sola’s armor is bound to her, allowing it to come back when she resurrects. The armor also has a self-upgrade feature, which gives Sola Units according to the enemies she defeats. Those Units can then be used to purchase abilities for the suit. Currently known abilities:

  • Health and ammo monitoring.
  • Allows Sola to survive in a vacuum.
  • Shields, which can partially carry the armor's weight.
  • Cleansing Spells: Keeps the suit clean and the visor clear.
  • Medi-seal: Sprays wounds shut to prevent blood loss.
  • Anesthetic Injections
  • Accelerates Perception.
  • Auto-repair Spells.
  • Counter Magic Features
  • Holograms that can emerge from left arm.
  • Speakers, masking her tone of voice.
  • Can dissolve into blue cubes, allowing it to be taken off quickly.
  • Pulse boosters: Increases maneuverability.

Worldslayer: A sleek, high grade Aethertech gun that is bound to Sola, and cannot be used by others[1]. It is a handheld cannon that pulses with an angry red-orange light, and its barrel shined, with sharp planes of energy that flickered in and out of existence, making the gun hard to look at. When shot, an orange-red energy that only looks a molecule thin is released, looking similar to a blade, giving Sola the name Fallen Sword. Worldslayer is very powerful, destroying Iron Hives with one shot. However, it cannot be used to often without destabilizing. When an opponent is shot, a corrosive red light will continue eating at the wound. Worldslayer can interfere with Subspace jumps[2].

Pyre: A complex spell anchor that resembles a spherical, hazy, flame made of mist that glows a soft blue-gray light. This flame is beyond Archmage level[3], and it is the source of Sola's immortality. When Sola dies, her body and armour dissolves into burning mist, before the Pyre flares up and forms itself into Sola's body in under a second. The flame can be split her into multiple pieces, allowing her to have backup spots to revive at. The spell can be eventually be exhausted, and Sola will die for real.

Inventory: Like a video game character, Sola can place weapons into an intangible inventory. She is able to do this even if the weapon is in use by another person, as long as she is able to touch the weapon.
