Steel Avalanche is a member of the Advocate High Council. He was responsible for guarding Varic Vallenar after he and The Last Horizon were captured by Starhammer. In Varic's alternative life where he was Doctor Nova's partner in crime, Steel Avalanche was one of Varic's greatest enemies.

Appearance and Personality
Steel Avalanche is an elderly, stocky, human man with a bristling, graying beard. He wears a blue and white Advocate uniform, with large silver Aethertech gauntlets that shine with an inner blue light.
Steel Avalanche has a tendency for excess violence when it comes to capturing criminals.
Biography
The Engineer
In Varic's Alternative Life
Steel Avalanche first meets Varic when he stopped and killed the Nebula Runners, who had hired Varic as a mage. Varic managed to defend himself from Steel Avalanche by using his Lagomorph contract until Doctor Nova arrived. Steel Avalanche was pushed into an escape pod, allowing Varic and Mell to get away. After this, Steel Avalanche nursed a grudge against them, and it was his job to capture Varic[1], though he often failed.
Avalanche—while not stupid—was not subtle. He had been easy to see coming, easy to trick. Mell and I had often laughed about it, when we caught sight of himshowing up two steps behind.
He was always angry. Always embarrassed. And he always found someone to take it out on.[1]
Steel Avalanche eventually succeeded in capturing some of Varic's and Mell's allies. One by one, he fought, or rather slaughtered, their friends and sent the footage to Varic and Mell. After which, Varic and Mell plotted against him directly. When Varic was captured by Starhammer, Steel Avalanche watched his execution.
Abilities and Equipment
Steel Avalanche gauntlets allow him to extend the force of his punch in a shockwave. His Combat Art allows him to direct that force in a useful way. His Aethertech enchancements also grants him immunity to bullets and plasma bolts.
