Prologue

Characters
Plot Summary

In another life, Varic fights in the Prime Coliseum on Visiria against his mentor, Kyri Prest. He is badly beaten, and wakes up back in the prep rooms. Kyri visits him after the match, and they discuss his training, where Varic admits that he has given up on fighting in the arena. Seeing his defeat, Kyri takes him to Lesser Karosha to fight off an Iron Legion invasion.

Chapter 1

Plot Summary

In this life, five years ago, Raion meets with the other four Titan Knights to motivate them for the fight against Neth'terith the following day. After they leave, Raion tries to get some sleep, but is interrupted by Doctor Janbell Cryce, who gives him the news that the D’niss are retreating. Knowing their battle in following day will be the last against the D’niss, Raion rushes to go tell his friends.

Chapter 2

Plot Summary

In the present, Varic and Omega defeat a lich that had the potential to become a galactic threat. Varic replaces his case for Eurias before Horizon teleports them back, where she warns Varic that the others are not in danger, but in trouble.

Chapter 3

Characters
Plot Summary

Varic is teleported to Sola first, where she is stopped by Galactic Union soldiers from raiding the Iron Legion’s Scourge Warrens on the planet. They escape the standoff and clean up the infestation, but before they are finished, Horizon warns them that Mell needs help. While Sola remains to continue the clean up, Varic is teleported to Mell. Mell was after information on the Zenith Cannon, before her identity was uncovered and she was attacked. Varic helps her find who knows the most information, but they are interrupted by Omega, who had already found the information. Mell prepares to pack up, and Varic returns to the ship.

Chapter 4

Characters
Plot Summary

Varic is teleported to Shyrax on her starship, and he advises her for her situation with the Perfected. They come to the conclusion that the time for recruitment of more Karoshan rebels has passed. Shyrax then requests Varic to teach a class, and include her own children in it. She also requests Varic to cast a pathfinding spell to find any traitors in her fleet. After some discussion, he casts the spell and Shyrax begins to work to investigate while Varic leaves to check on Raion.

Chapter 5

Characters
Plot Summary

Raion is on a space colony, rescuing the surviving crew after alien insectoids have taken over the colony. He rescues a pair of humans, holding onto them as he fights. The situation is tricky, and he is forced to use his combat art ineffectively to keep the colony intact and the humans safe. Varic then teleports onboard, and helps with the survivors. He casts a spell to guide Raion to the remaining survivors, and Raion is happy to have friends.

Chapter 6

Characters
Plot Summary

Five years ago, in this life, Raion lands the final blow on Neth'terith. As his starship starts to retrieve him, he notices a cloud of insects from the body surround him. He checks in with the other Knights, and though they send an all clear, he remains uncertain. When the Knights reunite in their base, Raion, unable to detect their friendship, demands their bio-readings from Doctor Cryce. She realizes they have been infected by parasites. The Knights, overhearing the conversation, begin to attack Raion. Doctor Cryce begs Raion to keep Parryl in one piece, and with that, he kills the White and the Blue Knight, and swears to save Parryl.

Chapter 7

Characters
Plot Summary

The crew holds a meeting, discussing the information gathered on the Zenith Cannon. The Cannon had been traced back to the Galactic Union, where it eventually ended up in the care of the Benri Vallenar. Varic wants to give up on the Cannon, due to his paranoia on awakening all the Zenith Devices. The others try to convince him otherwise, and Varic is outvoted. He plans to talk to his father, when Raion recieves a call suggesting a friend is still alive.

Chapter 8

Plot Summary

Back in Varic's other life, Kyri and Varic were done cleaning up the Iron Legion from the system. After some questioning from Varic, Kyri reveals a massive, single attack on Hives had driven them to flee to the system. She takes Varic to the Titan Force headquarters, where she planned to give them the information, despite its confidentiality. There, after a rocky meeting with Doctor Cryce, Varic and Kyri were taken to see the Blue Divine Titan. Kyri is tested for compatibility for the Divine Titan, but despite her attempts, the Titan doesn't respond to her. When helping Kyri out of the Titan, however, Varic braced himself on its armor and the Divine Titan awakens at his touch. While he is still stunned, Kyri lifts him into the pilot seat before jumping out herself. Varic passes the test for compatibility with the Blue Titan before it shuts down again, still needing time to get to know him. With that Varic is welcomed into the Titan Knights.

Chapter 9

Characters
Plot Summary

Varic and Raion arrive at the Titan Force headquarters. As they enter the building, Raion tries to convince Varic to become the Blue Knight again, though he declines. Doctor Cryce questions them via speaker, and is excited when Varic reveals himself as the Captain of The Last Horizon. They make their way to Cryce's office, where she reveals Parryl is alive, and her eagerness to use The Last Horizon medical facilities for her.

Chapter 10

Characters
Plot Summary

Doctor Cryce explains Parryl's condition, admitting she only called for Raion's help as she only had a few days left. Horizon scans Parryl's current facilities and suggests Varic is a better source of aid. Varic examines the healing spells on Parryl, and confirms that a ritual can save her. He suggests Raion to collect the Heart of Visiria for the ritual. Cryce is skeptical, but after some convincing, Varic casts a sealing spell on Parryl to slow her progression to give time for Raion to retrieve the Heart.

Chapter 11

Characters
Plot Summary

Back in another life, Varic is nervous to meet the other Titan Knights. After their introduction, Kyri, now the combat instructor to the Knights, takes them all to the gym to duel. Varic is able to defeat his first few opponents—Parryl, Aelora, and Javik— easily, but is immediately defeated by Raion. Kyri then duels with Raion. Despite winning the duel, Kyri was exhuasted. She then discusses Raion privately with Varic and Doctor Cryce, uncertain she is able to train him, and uncertain about her own limits.

Chapter 12

Characters
Plot Summary

Varic and Raion arrive at Visiria. As they approach the planet, Varic tries to ask about Raion's family and cheer him up. Raion then tries to cheer Varic up as they finally dock the ship. They meet with Raion's brother, Ryzer, who immediantely scolds them for not disguising themselves. Varic dismisses his concern, knowing they couldn't hide their visit. To prove it, he exposes a Karoshan suicide agent to Ryzer.

Chapter 13

Plot Summary

At Ryzer's home, Varic, Raion, and Ryzer discuss and argue about a plan to work their way through the Visiri Senators to obtain the Heart of Visiria while improving Visiria's opinion on The Last Horizon. Ryzer believes there is potential in the plan as long as Raion trusts him. With that, Varic teleports back to the ship, where Sola immediately reports that an unknown enemy has caused three planets to lose contact. Varic plans to check it out with Sola, while Horizon stays near Raion.

Chapter 14

Plot Summary

While on route, Varic calls his father to discuss the Zenith Cannon. Benri tries to stir the conversation towards Sola, who was caught in frame of the call. Varic rushes through the negotiation, offering to share information of the and return the Device after studying it. He relents on letting Benri and the Vallenar Corporation to study the Cannon aboard The Last Horizon, and Benri states he will consider the offer before cutting the call off. Sola expresses her distaste of Benri, leading to her and Varic discussing about fighting through their problems. As they head through Subspace, Sola asks about Varic's alternative life with her. He tells her about how he fought against the Iron Legion because of her, and they begin to share stories about death.

Chapter 15

Plot Summary

The Cosmic Path leads the ship out of Subspace early, and Varic and Sola wonder what blocked the route. Varic begins casting Pathfinding spells to figure out the culprit. He eventually discovers a nearby D'Niss. Initially, he decides to leave it to the Karoshan Alliance, but the spell gets caught by the D'Niss. After fifteen minutes, Sel'miroth and her soldiers emerge from Subspace. Varic casts a spell, keeping Sola safe, when a psychic attack hits them. Sola shoots Sel'miroth with Worldslayer, but as they escape, Varic and Sola watch her resurrect.

Chapter 16

Characters
Plot Summary

Varic, back on The Last Horizon, calls Raion to tell him of the return of the D'Niss. He convinces Raion to continue his mission, while they move the ship out of teleporter range to deal with the D'Niss. Mell, meanwhile, complains that they have reached their limit in the speed of printing ships and Nova-Bots. Shadow Ark is brought up again, and Varic considers getting him a planet. Shadow Ark enters the conversation, and the crew discusses his abilities and getting him a mortal. They are interrupted when Horizon receives an emergency transmission from the Karoshan royal guard.

Chapter 17

Characters
Plot Summary

The crew emerges at the Karoshan ships, where a civil war is occurring. Horizon contacts Shyrax, who informs them that some ships had been taken over. Horizon telepors her on board, and Varic pairs up the crew to board the enemy ships themselves. Varic and Horizon stayed behind to coordinate and support the others, while the others were teleported onto ships.

Sola POV: Sola and Omega are teleported onto a Karoshan ship. Sola immediately loses Omega and instead proceeds to the bridge, killing Karoshan soldiers on the way. At the bridge, she reunites with Omega, who mocks her for taking too long.

Mell POV: While Shyrax fights against the Karoshans, Mell hides behind Nova-Bots and searches through the ship's security for the controls. She follows Varic's orders to release some prisoners. Done with her task, Mell goes through the files of the ship to gather intel, and Shyrax, now done fighting, joins her.

Chapter 18

Characters
Plot Summary

Now back on The Last Horizon, Mell excitedly shares that she caught the Galactic Union lending support to the King Regen Felrex. Shyrax further clarifies that the Union has influence where it shouldn't, and Varic discusses other events that the Union could've been behind. Varic asks Omega for his opinion on Solstice, and then points out they have an unknown enemy and how all threats he had seen were reemerging. The crew decides to continue pursuing the Zenith Cannon.

Chapter 19

Characters
Plot Summary

In another life, Varic and the Titan Knights face down Neth'terith. Varic attempts to direct the Knights to take a more strategic approach, but Raion rushes ahead and makes an opening. Annoyed, Varic directs the Knights to follow and back Raion up. Raion fights his way through Neth'terith's soldiers and summons his Divine Titan when his starfighter is destroyed. Aelora and Javik also summon their Titans. After a psychic attack, Raion blocks an attack meant for Parryl. After that, Parryl and Varic join the others in their Titans. After Varic and Raion argue about strategy, the Titan Knights kill Neth'terith with a coordinated attack.
