The first rank of advancement outside of the Lord realm. Very little is known about it.
The rank of Herald is obtained by fusing with ones remnant and becoming half-spirit. Heralds are no longer limited by their physical capabilities or madra channels.
Gaining the rank of Herald is one of the necessary steps to advance to Monarch. Though this rank is usually achieved by peak Archlords, in Wintersteel(Cradle #8) Yerin Arelius becomes a herald at Overlord by fusing with her blood-shadow, a technique created by the Sage of the Red Faith.
