Lindon Timeline

The following is intended to be a timeline for Lindon. No attempt is made to map events from parallel points of view to Lindon's timeline, as no precise mapping is commonly given when shifting viewpoints. Since exact dates are not given in the text, the timeline measures primarily in days since Lindon encountered the ancestral orus tree in Unsouled. This day is numbered day 1. Years and days within years are assigned based on the assumption of 365 days per year. Days in the timeline are not assigned to months, but in building the timeline, "week" and "month" in the books have been interpreted as 7 and 30 days, respectively. This is based on a Word of Will that Cradle time measurement can be assumed to mirror standard Earth measurements in order to simplify storytelling and reading.

It is noted in Unsouled that it is late summer as Lindon and Yerin leave Sacred Valley. (This is recorded as day 75 in the timeline.) Based on the timing, it can be assumed that the day 1 of this timeline should occur be the very beginning of summer, although no exact date is assumed.

Since it has been days (plural), the conversation between Lindon and Yerin at the beginning of book 2 can't be the day after their fight with Whitehall. However, if Lindon is grateful for having his pack over the past 5 days, it seems likely that those 5 days would include the day they sacked the Lesser Treasure Hall. So it is assumed that days 71 - 75 comprise the 5 days referenced in the first quote. An additional quote gives further evidence: "He'd spent the last four nights snatching only the occasional handful of sleep because of the pain in his back, his ribs, his limbs" (Soulsmith, chapter 1). Since Lindon get some sleep in his quarters at the school during the night between days 70 and 71, it is reasonable to conclude that the "four nights" of this quote are the nights of 71, 72, 73, and 74, placing the Copper advancement on day 75.

Although some of the text suggests the passage of time ("He [Lindon] had to sleep motionless on his back for fear of rolling of th edge, which meant he spent his nights staring up at the spider constructs dangling over his head" (Soulsmith, chapter 10), it's also written that Yerin returned to the Five Factions Alliance camp early in the day when she accept shelter ("As dawn's first light filtered through the blackened trees surrounding the Five Factions Alliance, Yerin returned, dragging a bright blue corpse behind her" (Soulsmith, chapter 9). Yerin does make a few wrong turns in getting to Fisher Gesha's foundry, but it seems that this does not take all that long, and so Yerin is still reaching the foundry relatively early in the day. Then there is this text from chapter 10: "The first day, Gesha had her drudge run over the blue crab Remnant that Yerin had brought, the construct's eight legs moving at blurring speeds to dismantle the spirit and separate it into usable parts" (Soulsmith, chapter 10). It's plausible that this is referring to the first day from Yerin's arrival, which would place her arrival and the events of Fisher Gesha's and Lindons discussion of the crab Remnant on the same day. Also, by beginning with "As dawn's first light..." immediately after the section regarding Lindon's entrance nighttime meeting with Fisher Gesha, it is plausible to conclude that Yerin's acceptance of shelter is the very next day (when it otherwise could have been two or more days).
