Lindon and Mercy went to see off Pride and the leaving Akura cloudship, which was going to combat the Titan. They discussed the remaining competition, and Mercy talked Lindon into taking Yerin to do something fun.

Therian Nills, Underlord of the Stormcallers, remembered the events that had brought him to the tournament and prepared for his fight. He fought Ziel and resolved to aim for a quick death.

Lindon and Yerin watched Ziel defeat Therian easily. He invited her to dinner the following night and she accepted instantly.

Mercy talked to the two about their reservation while they were more worried about her upcoming fight. She defeated Ulrok easily and worried about the future of her family.

Chapter 5

Plot Summary

Lindon waited for Yerin at the restaurant. She arrived, to his amazement, and he asked Dross to stay quiet for the night. The host admitted that the son of the restaurant’s owner had claimed their reserved room and was going to tell him to leave until he called them up, not knowing who they were. He asked them to fight until he was told who they were and pivoted to giving them the table and their food. Lindon and Yerin ate and talked, although Lindon felt some distress at not being Uncrowned.


Lindon, Yerin, and Mercy watched the fight between Yan Shoumei and Blacksword. Blacksword performed much better than expected. The group discussed the mystery of Sage powers which Yerin had tapped into earlier. Their view of the fight was interrupted, and when it returned they saw Yan Shoumei victorious, having utilized her blood shadow.

Lindon and Yerin watched the final fight, between a Silent Servants cultist and Sophara. Although they hoped for the cultist to succeed, Sophara made quick work of her.

Chapter 6

Plot Summary

Min Shuei went to ask Northstrider to let her train Yerin but ran into the Sage of Red Faith instead. They fought until Northstrider arrived and stopped them, then they argued over who should be allowed to train Yerin. Red Faith made his argument in favor of scientific advancement and Northstrider punched him out of the room then gave the Winter Sage permission to train Yerin.

The eight Uncrowned were presented and received their Broken Crown. Lindon planned to work towards Overlord while they were gone for Sage training, considering fighting near the Titan like the Akuras. Northstrider moved him and tested Dross while Lindon tried to probe him for information to partial success. Dross succeeded in the test, then Northstrider demonstrated the Consume technique for Lindon. Northstrider encouraged him to fight near the Wandering but refused to send him there himself and explained some of the mechanics of spatial travel before sending him back.

Chapter 7

Characters
Plot Summary

An information report on Emriss Silentborn. She follows the Path of Ten Thousand Dreams and was a men’hla tree. She spent her life endeavoring to spread knowledge widely until she was assassinated by three monarchs. They were unable to end her Remnant, which eventually reformed sapient but incomplete and spreads language rather than sacred arts.

Lindon said goodbye to his Uncrowned friends and asked Charity to take him to the Titan and back, which she said she would consider upon her return. He almost kissed Yerin but shied back due to the audience. Eithan gave him a dream tablet about the Path of the Hollow King and the Arelius technique library. He gave him some brief advice before all of the Uncrowned left through portals for their training.

Eithan returned to the Arelius home and talked with the Oracle Sage. She convinced him to advance to Overlord, which he did easily.

Charity guided Mercy through the fifth page of the Book of Eternal Night to learn the Dream of Darkness technique.

Yerin explored the Frozen Blade School, reminiscing about when she was there with the Sword Sage. She went to talk with the Winter Sage and they discussed the state of her techniques and training schedule. The Sage resolved to teach her how to read and explained how authority works. Yerin’s blood shadow broke out briefly and she argued with the Sage about whether to continue feeding it.

Chapter 8

Plot Summary

Lindon developed Consume and worked on a variety of projects. When Akura Charity returned, she transported him to the Titan battlefield after several stops. The town there was thoroughly destroyed and he met with King Dakata.

Chapter 9

Plot Summary

Lindon briefly stayed in a Seishen Kingdom room but ran from their quarters due to the bad blood between him and their royal family. Lindon continued to work on Consume and his Path and made a breakthrough with Little Blue’s help. The Akuras arrived and Fury briefed everyone then put him in charge of a team composed of Pride, Grace, Teia, Kei, and Saeya. Lindon was hesitant until he saw the treasures he could earn for contributing. He immediately took charge and directed the others to maximize his point returns. He and Saeya went to kill Dreadbeasts and complete an assignment.

Chapter 10

Characters
Plot Summary

Eithan walked through the Arelius homeland and encountered Reigan Shen. They argued about his murder of Tiberian and whether the Dreadgods should be destroyed forever. They began negotiating for Eithan to withdraw from the tournament. Eithan demanded support for Arelius, help from the Rootfather, evacuation for the Blackflame Empire, advancement sponsorship, and the Soulforge. Shen readily agreed to the first four and grudgingly to the last.

An information report on Tiberian Arelius, who followed the Path of Raging Sky. He was extremely talented. Eithan convinced him to try destroying the Dreadgods aided by some Labyrinth relics, but Shen killed him rather than making an alliance.

Yerin fought a dangerous remnant to try feeling the Sword Icon again to some success. She then saw the Sage of Red Faith and his students, there to speak with her, but she responded by attacking. He was excited at her power, but had to leave to fight of the Winter Sage. She talked with Calan and Shoumei.
